That’s right, it’s cozy slipper season.

I sold a picture to a magazine in Norway, and they kindly sent me a copy. I noticed that Customs wanted to read it first.

I took a quick meeting with Ms. V downtown. This view near the elevators is where I decided to run back to the car for an umbrella.

Back in Seattle on a silent and gray Sunday, I found your outfit for next Halloween. Two options:
1. Dress like an adorable labradoodle, or
2. Rowlf, from the Muppets!

I’ve noticed this fella all week, as I’ve driven down Greenlake. He morphed from a more traditional character shortly before Election Day.

I love Kim Rickett’s book events. She brings wonderful authors to the Seattle area to speak about their work. Tonight at the Palace Ballroom, we listened to Amanda Hesser talk about the creation of her latest book: The Essential New York Times Cookbook.

Amanda Hesser is in town for an event tomorrow evening, so tonight Viv hosted one of her classic potlucks at The Dorm. All who attended brought a dish from the New York Times, or from one of Amanda’s books.

After spending time with her this evening in such a small group setting, I’m an unequivocal fan. She’s witty, charming, and delightful to be around.

Later: birthday dinner for motomotoyama! It was a big evening.

Foliage Report for November 2:

Our Halloween plans mainly consisted of brunch with Eric & Anne at the Latona Pub, yardwork, then walking near Greenlake. Liked.

Walking up Fremont Ave, spotted signage for a new Sweet & Savory Pie Shop in the old Dubliner space. Pie fans will be pleased. (Meanwhile, I’m CAKE 4 LIFE!)

I was at Display Party & Costume, cobbling together some items for Halloween when I happened upon these oddities.

Skeeball Scoreboard
I discovered a hidden talent tonight, for Skeeball, at the welcome back/goodbye party for another Rachel. She’s briefly back from a year’s teaching in Japan to move her stuff to Sacramento.

I do love the leaves. Like yesterday, busy day — this image from a rainy walk break with The Baron.

Looots of work today — the only picture I managed was from the backyard on a Baron Break.

Noticed recently that there’s now Sunday night trivia in the hood. I recruited Mr. T, motomotoyama & a couple of other neighbors. First place!
From the walk home:

One of those soggy days of early Fall where you realize Winter has arrived. The Baron hardly wanted to venture to the backyard.

A house nearby held an estate sale. Curiosity drove me inside, though I didn’t buy anything. Turns out, this house has not been on the market since 1940. I’m glad I stopped in — it was a time capsule.

A snap from today’s vet visit. First thought: if this is successful, there’s silly money in this region to have such specialty. Second thought: I definitely respect the entrepreneurial spirit.
